Commissioning an Artwork

What you need to consider when you are commissioning a painting.

 

1.         For commissions I need a clear, well lit photograph at the size you wish the image to 

            be.  I charge per square inch and will give a quote worked out according to the size

            and the cost of the matt and frame if applicable. Images can be enlarged but this

            will incur an extra cost.

2.         Type of Artwork             

            Mediums:

            Oils:  on Canvas or wooden panel

             Acrylic:  On stretched canvas

             Gouache:  On watercolour paper.  A4 is the largest size in this medium.

​

             I work on stretched  shop brought canvas or wooden panel.  These are purchased from reputable art shop.

             Please note I do not stretch my own canvas.

 

3.          Reference Material

             Photograph provided by you. This remains your property.

 

5..         Pricing          

            I charge per square inch.

 

5.         Terms

            A 50% deposit is to be paid before the artwork is commenced.  This is non refundable.

            Balance paid on completion.  I will send you no more than 3 progress photos for your approval and agreement

            on continuing the painting.

            BALANCE OF THE AGREED PRICE MUST BE RECEIVED BEFORE THE ARTWORK WILL BE RELEASED TO                    YOU.
